Frith Books currently has a number of freelance opportunities for editors, proofreaders, artists, and social media management. If you’re interested in applying, please get in touch!
Do you have an eye for detail, good people skills, and the patience of a saint?
We’re seeking freelance editors to work on forthcoming manuscripts. A good knowledge of English grammar and style is required, as is proficiency in the use of review tools in Microsoft Word and/or LibreOffice/OpenOffice. Editors will be asked to work with authors throughout the review process, polishing manuscripts and checking for sneaky mistaeks, and will earn a percentage royalty on every title they edit.
If you enjoy reading but also have an eagle eye and strong attention to detail, we would love to have you onboard as a proofreader: the last line of defence between a great story and typo errors! Proofers are essential to the editorial process, and will be compensated for their time with a (small) percentage royalty on every title they work on, plus coupons redeemable for freebies on the Frith Books website.
Are you a digital or traditional media artist, illustrator, or photographer?
We are seeking artists of all stripes willing to work on book covers for both ebook and print formats. Artists will receive a percentage royalty on each title they work on plus a (small) negotiable commission fee, and we would like to feature guest spots with our artists on the Frith Books website, to include interviews, Q&As, portfolio presentations etc., to be discussed on an individual basis.
Are you savvy with social media? We would love to find enthusiastic people willing to help manage our presence on social media, including Twitter, Facebook, and tumblr. At this time, compensation will be mostly informal, but this is a role that will – we hope – grow as we do.
